Today’s plastic surgery procedures can benefit men as much as women, thanks to evolving techniques and approaches tailored to the aesthetic desires of the male patient. At Dr. Stanley Foster Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics, we have refined our most popular procedures to correct imperfections and turn back time without sacrificing the distinctly masculine look men want. Whether you are looking for a way to refine one of your facial features or contour your body profile, Dr. Foster and his team can help you reach your goals.

Botox (Brotox)

Botox injections, the go-to anti-aging treatment for women, can provide men with similar benefits. In fact, the rising number of males seeking this procedure has coined the term “Brotox.” Brotox is done a bit differently than Botox performed on female patients since men tend to want to preserve their distinguished appearance while smoothing away some of the more prominent lines and wrinkles on the upper face.

Botox is a quick treatment that is completed within minutes. There is no downtime, and you can return to work and other activities without the revealing signs of a cosmetic treatment. Results appear in the days following your injections and last three to four months before a touch-up procedure is needed.

Eyelid Surgery

Like women, men often see the signs of aging first appear around the eyes. Skin laxity leads to droopy upper eyelids and sags and bags underneath the eyes. These changes can make you look like you never get a good night of sleep severe drooping can even impair your line of vision. Blepharoplasty is a surgical technique that reverses these aging symptoms, opening the eyes and refreshing the appearance.

Men can opt to have their upper or lower lids enhanced, or alter both lids in the same surgery. The recovery process is not significantly longer when you have both eyelids treated at the same time. Results of blepharoplasty are very long-lasting, with most men enjoying their refreshed appearance for many years.

Neck Lift

Skin laxity is not just a problem on the face; it can impact the neck as well. Loose, redundant skin on the front of the neck creates the appearance of the turkey wattle and the double chin. For men, the changes to the neck can be more than cosmetic. Excess skin and deep folds can make it uncomfortable to wear a shirt and tie.

A neck lift eliminates loose, redundant skin while repositioning the underlying tissue to create a naturally smoother contour. Incisions are carefully placed where residual scarring will not be evident. A neck lift may be performed alone or in conjunction with a face lift to create an even more dramatic result.

Nose Surgery

Concerns with the appearance or function of the nose are not gender-specific. Men also may wish to change the size or shape of the nose or correct internal deformities that can inhibit breathing. Rhinoplasty is the surgery that focuses on improving the look of the nose, creating a more attractive shape and proportionate size.

Dr. Foster performs rhinoplasty using general anesthesia, so you are comfortably asleep throughout your procedure. Incisions are kept inside the nasal cavity to avoid visible scarring afterward. Bruising and swelling are common side effects that linger for a week or two, and most men return to work and other obligations at that time.

Liposuction

Like women, men often find that their diet and fitness efforts do not yield the full results they are hoping to achieve. Small, stubborn areas of fat may remain around the abdomen and back, interfering with your sleeker body contour. Liposuction may be necessary to suction away that tenacious bulge and put the final sculpting on your profile.

Dr. Foster uses local or tumescent anesthesia for his liposuction procedures. Dr. Foster uses the Cynosure Smartlipo machine so you have less swelling and bruising. Incisions allow for insertion of a small cannula, which loosens the fat and suctions it out of the body. Incisions don’t require sutures and are too small to leave scarring behind.

Gynecomastia

Breast procedures are not restricted to women. Men with gynecomastia or enlarged male breasts may also seek surgery to create a more masculine chest contour. Gynecomastia is not usually a serious medical issue, but it can be devastating socially and psychologically. Male breast reduction restores a man’s self-confidence and self-esteem in addition to his appearance.

Dr. Foster uses local anesthesia for all male breast reduction procedures. Incisions are placed in the armpit, and Smartlipo and/or an ultrasonic liposuction device is placed into the breast to remove excess tissue. If there is dense breast tissue a stronger shaver is used. Most patients are back to activities within about one week.
